So David reigned over all Israel, and David administered justice and equity to all his people.


Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the Lord loved Israel forever, he has made you king to execute justice and righteousness.”


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the way of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.


Before him there was no king like him who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses, nor did any like him arise after him.


The sons of Josiah: Johanan the firstborn, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, the fourth Shallum.


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in the ways of his ancestor David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.


But Josiah would not turn away from him but disguised himself in order to fight with him. He did not listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God but joined battle in the plain of Megiddo.


Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and his faithful deeds in accordance with what is written in the law of the Lord


Loyalty and faithfulness preserve the king, and his throne is upheld by righteousness.


To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.


take away the wicked from the presence of the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness.


By justice a king gives stability to the land, but one who makes heavy exactions ruins it.


Speak out; judge righteously; defend the rights of the poor and needy.


Happy are you, O land, when your king is a nobleman, and your princes feast at the proper time— for strength and not for drunkenness!


There is nothing better for mortals than to eat and drink and find enjoyment in their toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God,


Tell the innocent how fortunate they are, for they shall eat the fruit of their labors.


they will live on the heights; their refuge will be the fortresses of rocks; their food will be supplied, their water assured.


Great will be his authority, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time onward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.


O house of David! Thus says the Lord: Execute justice in the morning, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor anyone who has been robbed, or else my wrath will go forth like fire and burn, with no one to quench it, because of their evil doings.


Therefore thus says the Lord concerning King Jehoiakim son of Josiah of Judah: They shall not lament for him, saying, “Alas, my brother!” or “Alas, sister!” They shall not lament for him, saying, “Alas, lord!” or “Alas, his majesty!”


Thus says the Lord: Act with justice and righteousness and deliver from the hand of the oppressor anyone who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the alien, the orphan, and the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place.


The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.


Whether it is good or bad, we will obey the voice of the Lord our God to whom we are sending you, in order that it may go well with us when we obey the voice of the Lord our God.”


For if you truly amend your ways and your doings, if you truly act justly one with another,


So give as alms those things that are within and then everything will be clean for you.


Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts,


So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.


Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”
