“And you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with single mind and willing heart, for the Lord searches every mind and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will abandon you forever.


I know, my God, that you search the heart and take pleasure in uprightness; in the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen your people who are present here offering freely and joyously to you.


then hear from heaven, your dwelling place, forgive, and render to all whose hearts you know, according to all their ways, for only you know the human heart.


For according to their deeds he will repay them, and according to their ways he will make it befall them.


would not God discover this? For he knows the secrets of the heart.


Because of you we are being killed all day long and accounted as sheep for the slaughter.


and steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord. For you repay to all according to their work.


God is my shield, who saves the upright in heart.


O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous, you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God.


From the fruit of the mouth one is filled with good things, and manual labor has its reward.


The crucible is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart.


This is an evil in all that happens under the sun, that the same fate comes to everyone. Moreover, the hearts of humans are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.


According to their deeds, so will he repay wrath to his adversaries, requital to his enemies; to the coastlands he will render requital.


But you, O Lord of hosts, who judge righteously, who try the heart and the mind, let me see your retribution upon them, for to you I have committed my cause.

in order that I may take hold of the hearts of the house of Israel, all of whom are estranged from me through their idols.


But the earth will be desolate because of its inhabitants, for the fruit of their doings.


“For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done.


so that your alms may be done in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.


and needed no one to testify about anyone, for he himself knew what was in everyone.


Then they prayed and said, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which one of these two you have chosen


So what fruit did you then gain from the things of which you now are ashamed? The end of those things is death.


And God, who searches hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.


and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.


And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books.


“See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone’s work.


But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him, for the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
