11 Do not speak evil against one another, brothers and sisters. Whoever speaks evil against another or judges another speaks evil against the law and judges the law, but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven;


Therefore you are without excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others, for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.


For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous in God’s sight but the doers of the law who will be justified.


What then are we to say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”


Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive commendation from God.


For I fear that when I come I may find you not as I wish and that you may find me not as you wish; I fear that there may perhaps be quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.


Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice.


Women likewise must be serious, not slanderers, but temperate, faithful in all things.

Likewise, tell the older women to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or enslaved to much wine; they are to teach what is good,


Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers and sisters.


You must understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger,


But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing.


If you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well.


As an example of suffering and patience, brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.


Be patient, therefore, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious crop from the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.


Brothers and sisters, do not grumble against one another, so that you may not be judged. See, the Judge is standing at the doors!


Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander.
