because our message of the gospel came to you not in word only but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of persons we proved to be among you for your sake.


For if any are hearers of the word and not doers, they are like those who look at themselves in a mirror;


But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing.


Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of persons ought you to be in leading lives of holiness and godliness,
