But you indeed are awesome! Who can stand before you when your anger is roused?


Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid, for God has come only to test you and to put the fear of him upon you so that you do not sin.”


For when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in his midst, they will sanctify my name; they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.


But the Lord of hosts is exalted by justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy by righteousness.

Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell.


But I will show you whom to fear: fear the one who, after killing, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear that one!


No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,


In the presence of the Lord your God, in the place that he will choose as a dwelling for his name, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, your wine, and your oil, as well as the firstlings of your herd and flock, so that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.


Lord, who will not fear and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your judgments have been revealed.”


He took a yoke of oxen and cut them in pieces and sent them throughout all the territory of Israel by the messengers, saying, “Whoever does not come out after Saul and Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen!” Then the dread of the Lord fell upon the people, and they came out as one.
