so that all may see and know, all may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it.

They shall go after the Lord, who roars like a lion; when he roars, his children shall come trembling from the west.


He has told you, O mortal, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?


I hear, and I tremble within; my lips quiver at the sound. Rottenness enters into my bones, and my steps tremble beneath me. I wait quietly for the day of calamity to come upon the people who attack us.


I tell you, something greater than the temple is here.


Did not my hand make all these things?’


But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”


Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence but much more now in my absence, work on your own salvation with fear and trembling,


He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
