So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you.


I will bring the sword against you, executing vengeance for the covenant, and if you withdraw into your cities, I will send pestilence among you, and you shall be delivered into enemy hands.


And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance on the nations that did not obey.


Were not these the words that the Lord proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, along with the towns around it, and when the Negeb and the Shephelah were inhabited?”


He sent his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding banquet, but they would not come.


The king was enraged. He sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.


He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him.


In the street the sword shall bereave, and in the chambers terror for young man and woman alike, nursing child and old gray head.
