Flee from the midst of Babylon; save your lives, each of you! Do not perish because of her guilt, for this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance; he is repaying her what is due.

For thus says the Lord: You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.


Wail, for the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty!


See, the day of the Lord is coming, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the earth a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.


Raise a shout against her from all sides, “She has surrendered; her bulwarks have fallen; her walls are thrown down.” For this is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance on her; do to her as she has done.


I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they shall act in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord God.
