“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!


because your heart was penitent and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, says the Lord.


When others are humiliated, you say it is pride, for he saves the humble.


This would be my consolation; I would even exult in unrelenting pain, for I have not denied the words of the Holy One.


He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name.


Our God is in the heavens; he does whatever he pleases.


To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!


For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he perceives from far away.

But God, who consoles the downcast, consoled us by the arrival of Titus,


He subdues the ancient gods, shatters the forces of old; he drove out the enemy before you and said, ‘Destroy!’


To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.


It is he alone who has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see; to him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.


how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!


But God gives all the more grace; therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”


In the same way, you who are younger must be subject to the elders. And all of you must clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”


Lord, who will not fear and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your judgments have been revealed.”


“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens:


And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and inside. Day and night without ceasing they sing, “Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God the Almighty, who was and is and is to come.”


There is no Holy One like the Lord, no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.
