Indeed, since that day I am he; there is no one who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can hinder it?


They lift it to their shoulders; they carry it; they set it in its place, and it stands there; it cannot move from its place. If one cries out to it, it does not answer or save anyone from trouble.


You are wearied with your many consultations; let those who study the heavens stand up and save you, those who gaze at the stars and at each new moon predict what shall befall you.


Their roaring is like a lion; like young lions they roar; they growl and seize their prey; they carry it off, and no one can rescue.


The dogs have a mighty appetite; they never have enough. The shepherds also have no understanding; they have all turned to their own way, to their own gain, one and all.
