The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the crocus


I will open rivers on the bare heights and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water.


I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive; I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together,


See, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth, I tell you of them.


I declared them to you from long ago, before they came to pass I announced them to you, so that you would not say, “My idol did them; my carved image and my cast image commanded them.”


You have heard; now see all this; and will you not declare it? From this time forward I tell you new things, hidden things that you have not known.


they shall not hunger or thirst, neither scorching wind nor sun shall strike them down, for he who has pity on them will lead them and by springs of water will guide them.


For the Lord will comfort Zion; he will comfort all her waste places and will make her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.


Therefore the days are surely coming, says the Lord, when it shall no longer be said, “As the Lord lives who brought the people of Israel up out of the land of Egypt,”


How long will you waver, O faithless daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing on the earth: a woman encompasses a man.


With weeping they shall come, and with consolations I will lead them back; I will let them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path where they shall not stumble, for I have become a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.


Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff; water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their livestock drank.


So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; look, new things have come into being!


who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, an arid wasteland with poisonous snakes and scorpions. He made water flow for you from flint rock.


And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
