You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land.


In old age they still produce fruit; they are always green and full of sap,


If the Lord of hosts had not left us a few survivors, we would have been like Sodom and become like Gomorrah.


On that day the Lord will again raise his hand to recover the remnant that is left of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.


In days to come Jacob shall take root; Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots and fill the whole world with fruit.


It may be that the Lord your God heard the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.” [[


On that day the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and glory of the survivors of Israel.


Even if a tenth part remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak whose stump remains standing when it is felled.” (The holy seed is its stump.)


I will bring forth descendants from Jacob and from Judah inheritors of my mountains; my chosen shall inherit it, and my servants shall settle there.


Out of them shall come thanksgiving and the sound of merrymakers. I will make them many, and they shall not be few; I will make them honored, and they shall not be disdained.


For thus says the Lord: Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, and raise shouts for the chief of the nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, “Save, O Lord, your people, the remnant of Israel.”


And those who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, few in number, and all the remnant of Judah who have come to the land of Egypt to settle shall know whose words will stand, mine or theirs!


If any survivors escape, they shall be found on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning over their iniquity.


So, too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.


And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “Though the number of the children of Israel were like the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved,


And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise.
