the earth was complete chaos, and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.


For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.”


So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of King Sennacherib of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies; he gave them rest on every side.


The Lord helps them and rescues them; he rescues them from the wicked and saves them because they take refuge in him.


God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved; God will help it when the morning dawns.


The nations are in an uproar; the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice; the earth melts.


he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and defense.


you shall say, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt when he struck down the Egyptians but spared our houses.’ ” And the people bowed down and worshiped.


‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.

On that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; he sets up walls and bulwarks as a safeguard.


I, the Lord, am its keeper; every moment I water it. I guard it night and day so that no one can harm it;


Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God. He will come with vengeance, with terrible recompense. He will come and save you.”


For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.”


I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria and defend this city.


Then the Lord will appear over them, and his arrow go forth like lightning; the Lord God will sound the trumpet and march forth in the whirlwinds of the south.


Then I will encamp at my house as a guard, so that no one shall march to and fro; no oppressor shall again overrun them, for now I have seen with my own eyes.


As an eagle stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, as it spreads its wings, takes them up, and bears them aloft on its pinions,
