Like a lion coming up from the thickets of the Jordan to a perennial pasture, I will suddenly chase them away from her, and I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who can summon me? Who is the shepherd who can stand before me?


They shall go after the Lord, who roars like a lion; when he roars, his children shall come trembling from the west.


The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?


On that day the Lord will shield the inhabitants of Jerusalem so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the Lord, at their head.


Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.


For I will be a wall of fire all around it, says the Lord, and I will be the glory within it.”


The Lord of hosts will protect them, and they shall consume and conquer the slingers; they shall drink their blood like wine and be full like a bowl, drenched like the corners of the altar.


Then I will encamp at my house as a guard, so that no one shall march to and fro; no oppressor shall again overrun them, for now I have seen with my own eyes.


he gave a great shout, like a lion roaring. And when he shouted, the seven thunders sounded.


Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
