Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.


And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him, and the Lord shut him in.


O that you would hide me in Sheol, that you would conceal me until your wrath is past, that you would appoint me a set time and remember me!


Save me, O Lord, from my enemies; I have fled to you for refuge.


Guard me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings,


For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will set me high on a rock.


For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.


In the shelter of your presence you hide them from human plots; you hold them safe under your shelter from contentious tongues.


You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. Selah


Be merciful to me, O God; be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, until the destroying storms pass by.


I cry to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.


You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,


he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and defense.


giving them respite from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.


The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.


The clever see danger and hide, but the simple go on and suffer for it.


For in a very little while my indignation will come to an end, and my anger will be directed to their destruction.”


Woe to Assyria, the rod of my anger— the club in their hands is my fury!


They come from a distant land, from the end of the heavens, the Lord and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole earth.


For the Lord is enraged against all the nations and furious against all their hordes; he has doomed them, has given them over for slaughter.


I have put my words in your mouth and hidden you in the shadow of my hand, stretching out the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth and saying to Zion, “You are my people.”


Listen to me, my people, and give heed to me, my nation, for a teaching will go out from me and my justice for a light to the peoples.


You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice; your bodies shall flourish like the grass, and it shall be known that the power of the Lord is with his servants, and his indignation is against his enemies.


I will give the priests their fill of fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my bounty, says the Lord.


But this command I gave them, “Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; walk only in the way that I command you, so that it may be well with you.”


Therefore say: Thus says the Lord God: Though I removed them far away among the nations and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a little while in the countries where they have gone.


“The king shall act as he pleases. He shall exalt himself and consider himself greater than any god and shall speak horrendous things against the God of gods. He shall prosper until the period of wrath is completed, for what is determined shall be done.


Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land who do his commands; seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the Lord’s wrath.


“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!


But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.


For our slight, momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure,
