Terror, pit, and trap are before you, O inhabitants of Moab! says the Lord.


Everyone who flees from the terror shall fall into the pit, and everyone who climbs out of the pit shall be caught in the trap. For I will bring these things upon Moab in the year of their punishment, says the Lord.


panic and pitfall have come upon us, devastation and destruction.


You have feared the sword, and I will bring the sword upon you, says the Lord God.


I will spread my net over him, and he shall be caught in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, yet he shall not see it, and he shall die there.


I will set my face against them; although they escape from the fire, the fire shall still consume them, and you shall know that I am the Lord when I set my face against them.


Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! Why do you want the day of the Lord? It is darkness, not light,


as if someone fled from a lion and was met by a bear or went into the house and rested a hand against the wall and was bitten by a snake.
