The wicked are not so but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

He has cast the lot for them; his hand has portioned it out to them with the line. [[They shall possess it; from generation to generation they shall live in it.


Even the nations are like a drop from a bucket and are accounted as dust on the scales; see, he takes up the isles like fine dust.


Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown, scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth, when he blows upon them, and they wither, and the tempest carries them off like stubble.


All who are incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.


therefore the Lord is bringing up against it the mighty flood waters of the River, the king of Assyria and all his glory; it will rise above all its channels and overflow all its banks;


Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were all broken in pieces and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors, and the wind carried them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.


Therefore they shall be like the morning mist or like the dew that goes away early, like chaff that swirls from the threshing floor or like smoke from a window.


before you are driven away like the drifting chaff, before there comes upon you the fierce anger of the Lord, before there comes upon you the day of the Lord’s wrath.
