The priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the Israelites, and they shall be forgiven; it was unintentional, and they have brought their offering, an offering by fire to the Lord, and their purification offering before the Lord, for their error.


In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to boast of my work for God.


For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life.


and might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross, thus putting to death that hostility through it.


And you who were once estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,


and since we have a great priest over the house of God,


For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. For this reason Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,


Since, therefore, the children share flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared the same things, so that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,


For it is clear that he did not come to help angels but the descendants of Abraham.


Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, partners in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession,


who was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses also “was faithful in all God’s house.”


Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken later.


Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.


For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin.


Every high priest chosen from among mortals is put in charge of things pertaining to God on their behalf, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.

He is able to deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is subject to weakness,


So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest but was appointed by the one who said to him, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you”;


where Jesus, a forerunner on our behalf, has entered, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.


For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.


For the law appoints as high priests humans, who are subject to weakness, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.


Now the main point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,


For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; hence it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.


But when Christ came as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation),
