Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die, but God will surely come to you and bring you up out of this land to the land that he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”


When the days of weeping for him were past, Joseph addressed the household of Pharaoh, “If now I have found favor with you, please speak to Pharaoh as follows:


Pharaoh answered, “Go up and bury your father, as he made you swear to do.”

and laid it in his new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock. He then rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb and went away.


For I am going to die in this land without crossing over the Jordan, but you are going to cross over to take possession of that good land.


Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what you have done.” Jonathan told him, “I tasted a little honey with the tip of the staff that was in my hand; here I am; I will die.”
