I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.


And the Lord stood beside him and said, “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring,


Know that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land, for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”


I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now leave this land at once and return to the land of your birth.’ ”


It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, ‘Take heed that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.’


Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your ancestors and to your kindred, and I will be with you.”


If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been on my side, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God saw my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.”


May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor judge between us.” So Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac,


thinking, “If Esau comes to the one company and destroys it, then the company that is left will escape.”

Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz prayed because of this and cried to heaven.


Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”


When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.


He said further, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.


After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to the Lord, saying:


David was in great danger, for the people spoke of stoning him because all the people were bitter in spirit for their sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
