Then Israel said to Joseph, “I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you again to the land of your ancestors.


Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die, but God will surely come to you and bring you up out of this land to the land that he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”


For he remembered his holy promise and Abraham, his servant.


For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.


he sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.


Against you, you alone, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment.


At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the dungeon and all the firstborn of the livestock.


Now go, I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”


‘But I will judge the people whom they serve,’ said God, ‘and after that they shall come out and worship me in this place.’


But the Lord has taken you and brought you out of the iron smelter, out of Egypt, to become a people of his very own possession, as you are now.


The Lord displayed before our eyes great and awesome signs and wonders against Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his household.


for it is the Lord our God who brought us and our ancestors up from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and who did those great signs in our sight. He protected us along all the way that we went and among all the peoples through whom we passed,


When Jacob went into Egypt and the Egyptians oppressed them, then your ancestors cried to the Lord, and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought forth your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.
