I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted.


He brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”


As for Ishmael, I have heard you; I will bless him and make him fruitful and exceedingly numerous; he shall be the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.


seeing that Abraham shall become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?


No, for I have chosen him, that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”


So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had settled.


Now Abraham was old, advanced in years, and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.


The Lord has greatly blessed my master, and he has become wealthy; he has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female slaves, camels and donkeys.


After the death of Abraham, God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac settled at Beer-lahai-roi.


Reside in this land as an alien, and I will be with you and will bless you, for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will fulfill the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.


I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands, and all the nations of the earth shall gain blessing for themselves through your offspring,


Let peoples serve you and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you!”


and your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your offspring.


God said to him, “I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall come from you, and kings shall spring from you.


Then he said, “I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there.


and I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great ones of the earth.


Moreover, the king’s servants came to congratulate our lord King David, saying, ‘May God make the name of Solomon more famous than yours and make his throne greater than your throne.’ The king bowed in worship on the bed


Your wickedness affects others like you, and your righteousness, other human beings.


By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their cattle decrease.


But the Israelites were fruitful and prolific; they multiplied and grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them.


Now let me alone so that my wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them, and of you I will make a great nation.”


Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah, who bore you, for he was but one when I called him, but I blessed him and made him many.


I will make them and the region around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.


You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our ancestors from the days of old.


Just as you have been a cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.”


I will strike them with pestilence and disinherit them, and I will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”


God said to Balaam, “You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.”


See, I received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it.


He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the ancestor of all who believe without being circumcised and who thus have righteousness reckoned to them,


in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.


so, you see, those who believe are the descendants of Abraham.


you shall make this response before the Lord your God: ‘A wandering Aramean was my ancestor; he went down into Egypt and lived there as an alien, few in number, and there he became a great nation, mighty and populous.
