So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you.


All Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to execute justice.


Then the king of Assyria commanded, “Send there one of the priests whom you carried away from there; let him go and live there and teach them the law of the god of the land.”


Only, may the Lord grant you discretion and understanding, so that when he gives you charge over Israel you may keep the law of the Lord your God.


“Twenty-four thousand of these,” David said, “shall have charge of the work in the house of the Lord, six thousand shall be officers and judges,


Take action, for it is your duty, and we are with you; be strong, and do it.”


“Now you, Tattenai, governor of the province Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and you, their associates, the envoys in the province Beyond the River, keep away;


For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord and to do it and to teach the statutes and ordinances in Israel.


For you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to make inquiries about Judah and Jerusalem according to the law of your God, which is in your hand,


They stood up in their place and read from the book of the law of the Lord their God for a fourth part of the day, and for another fourth they made confession and worshiped the Lord their God.


The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple;


For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;


For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,


For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.


And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”


As he went ashore, he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.


“You shall appoint judges and officials throughout your tribes, in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall render just decisions for the people.


It is he whom we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.


If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you.
