For thus says the Lord God: When I make you a city laid waste, like cities that are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep over you and the great waters cover you,


He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry.


Indeed, just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.


Why is it thought incredible by any of you that God raises the dead?


as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”), in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.


But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?”


If they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern what their end would be.


See now that I, even I, am he; there is no god besides me. I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; and no one can deliver from my hand.


He considered the fact that God is able even to raise someone from the dead—and, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.


The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.
