Who is like your people, like Israel? Is there another nation on earth whose God went to redeem it as a people and to make a name for himself, doing great and awesome things, driving out nations and their gods before your people, whom you redeemed for yourself from Egypt?


That very night the angel of the Lord set out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians; when morning dawned, they were all dead bodies.


Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.


You performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh and all his servants and all the people of his land, for you knew that they acted insolently against our ancestors. You made a name for yourself that remains to this day.


Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, so that he might make known his mighty power.


Then everyone will fear; they will tell what God has brought about and ponder what he has done.


Human wrath serves only to praise you, when you bind the last bit of your wrath around you.


Then I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them, and so I will gain glory for myself over Pharaoh and all his army, his chariots, and his chariot drivers.


I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, so that I will gain glory for myself over Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.


Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods, because he delivered the people from the Egyptians, when they dealt arrogantly with them.”


Indeed, by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth.


You are still exalting yourself against my people by not letting them go.


The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.


You showed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt and to this day in Israel and among all humankind and have made yourself a name that continues to this very day.


I will display my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed and my hand that I have laid on them.


For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense is offered to my name and a pure offering, for my name is great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.


Cursed be the cheat who has a male in the flock and vows to give it and yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished, for I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name is reverenced among the nations.


nevertheless, as I live and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord,


For the scripture says to Pharaoh, “I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I may show my power in you and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.”


What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath that are made for destruction,


so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty and so that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”


For it is a commendable thing if, being aware of God, a person endures pain while suffering unjustly.


and “A stone that makes them stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.


For certain intruders have stolen in among you, people who long ago were designated for this condemnation as ungodly, who pervert the grace of our God into debauchery and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.


Woe to us! Who can deliver us from the power of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with every sort of plague in the wilderness.
