But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; you have anointed me with fresh oil.

Dead flies make the perfumer’s ointment give off a foul odor; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.


The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.


The spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners,


to provide for those who mourn in Zion— to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory.


He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.


In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.


Consequently, he is able for all time to save those who approach God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.


But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and all of you have knowledge.


As for you, the anointing that you received from him abides in you, so you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him.
