That was for the Lord a night of vigil, to bring them out of the land of Egypt. That same night is a vigil to be kept for the Lord by all the Israelites throughout their generations.


Moses said to the people, “Remember this day on which you came out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, because the Lord brought you out from there by strength of hand; no leavened bread shall be eaten.


Today, in the month of Abib, you are going out.


“Three times in the year you shall hold a festival for me.

And on the fifteenth day of this month is a festival; seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.


It was two days before the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him,


Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover, was near.


After he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. (This was during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.)
