Moreover, the altar at Bethel, the high place erected by Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin—he pulled down that altar along with the high place. He burned the high place, crushing it to dust; he also burned the sacred pole.

therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way and be sated with their own devices.


The perverse get what their ways deserve, and the good, what their deeds deserve.


The images of their gods you shall burn with fire. Do not covet the silver or the gold that is on them and take it for yourself, because you could be ensnared by it, for it is abhorrent to the Lord your God.


But this is how you must deal with them: break down their altars, smash their pillars, cut down their sacred poles, and burn their idols with fire.


Then I took the sinful thing you had made, the calf, and burned it with fire and crushed it, grinding it thoroughly, until it was reduced to dust, and I threw the dust into the stream that runs down the mountain.
