Then I said, “Ah Lord God! I have never defiled myself; from my youth up until now I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by animals, nor has carrion flesh come into my mouth.”


The priests shall not eat of anything, whether bird or animal, that died of itself or was torn by animals.


“Speak to all the congregation of the Israelites and say to them: You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.


You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean and between the unclean bird and the clean; you shall not bring abomination on yourselves by animal or by bird or by anything with which the ground teems, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean.


That which died or was torn by wild animals he shall not eat, becoming unclean by it: I am the Lord.


The fat of an animal that died or was torn by wild animals may be put to any other use, but you must not eat it.


But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is profane or unclean.”


but we should write to them to abstain only from things polluted by idols and from sexual immorality and from whatever has been strangled and from blood.
