Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God. They took their stand at the foot of the mountain.


When all the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking, they were afraid and trembled and stood at a distance


Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the Israelites.

You have not come to something that can be touched, a blazing fire, and darkness, and gloom, and a tempest,


At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.”


But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be destroyed with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed.


and the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were ended.


he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.


The mountains quaked before the Lord, the One of Sinai, before the Lord, the God of Israel.
