and you made known your holy Sabbath to them and gave them commandments and statutes and a law through Moses your servant.


And Moses said to them, “Let no one leave any of it over until morning.”


“Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest so that your ox and your donkey may have relief and your homeborn slave and the resident alien may be refreshed.


Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death.


And do not carry a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath or do any work, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your ancestors.

Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color was like the color of gum resin.


The people went around and gathered it, ground it in mills or beat it in mortars, then boiled it in pots and made cakes of it, and the taste of it was like the taste of cakes baked with oil.


Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

I was in the spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet
