Tell the whole congregation of Israel that on the tenth of this month they are to take a lamb for each family, a lamb for each household.


For both the priests and the Levites had purified themselves; all of them were clean. So they slaughtered the Passover lamb for all the returned exiles, for their fellow priests, and for themselves.


The king commanded all the people, “Keep the Passover to the Lord your God as prescribed in this book of the covenant.”


While the Israelites were camped in Gilgal, they kept the Passover in the evening on the fourteenth day of the month in the plains of Jericho.


So the Lord said to Moses, “Gather for me seventy of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tent of meeting and have them take their place there with you.


So Moses went, summoned the elders of the people, and set before them all these words that the Lord had commanded him.


The Lord said to Moses, “Go on ahead of the people and take some of the elders of Israel with you; take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile and go.


This is how you shall eat it: your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand, and you shall eat it hurriedly. It is the Passover of the Lord.


“Go and assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has appeared to me, saying: I have given heed to you and to what has been done to you in Egypt.


and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.


By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.


You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your settlements you shall eat unleavened bread.”
