You have rebuked the nations; you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever and ever.


Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this as a remembrance in a book and recite it in the hearing of Joshua: I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”


The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.


No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, says the Lord.


Thus shall you say to them: The gods who did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.


I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal and the name of the idolatrous priests,


No, in all these things we are more than victorious through him who loved us.


But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.


No one will be able to stand against you; the Lord your God will put the fear and dread of you on all the land on which you set foot, as he promised you.


Therefore when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies on every hand, in the land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; do not forget.


the Lord will be unwilling to pardon them, for then the Lord’s anger and passion will smoke against them. All the curses written in this book will descend on them, and the Lord will blot out their names from under heaven.


Let me alone that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven, and I will make of you a nation mightier and more numerous than they.’


Know, then, today that the Lord your God is the one who crosses over before you as a devouring fire; he will defeat them and subdue them before you, so that you may dispossess and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.


No one shall be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.


They did so and brought the five kings out to him from the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.


So Joshua defeated the whole land, the hill country and the Negeb and the lowland and the slopes and all their kings; he left no one remaining but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.


Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.


The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have handed them over to you; not one of them shall stand before you.”
