Bow your heavens, O Lord, and come down; touch the mountains so that they smoke.


You will make them like a fiery furnace when you appear. The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath, and fire will consume them.


Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea,


As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze,


For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.


Fire goes before him and consumes his adversaries on every side.


Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt; therefore the inhabitants of the earth dwindled, and few people are left.


For his burning place has long been prepared, also for the king; its pyre is made deep and wide, with fire and wood in abundance; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.


For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.


I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you do not know, for in my anger a fire is kindled that shall burn against you.

I will gather you and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted within it.


therefore thus says the Lord God: I am speaking in my hot jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who, with wholehearted joy and utter contempt, took my land as their possession, because of its pasture, to plunder it.


For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare: On that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;


Your strength shall be spent to no purpose: your land shall not yield its produce, and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit.


Seek the Lord and live, or he will break out against the house of Joseph like fire, and it will devour Bethel, with no one to quench it.


This is what the Lord God showed me: the Lord God was calling for judgment by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land.


Then the mountains will melt under him, and the valleys will burst open like wax near the fire, like waters poured down a slope.


The mountains saw you and writhed; a torrent of water swept by; the deep gave forth its voice. The sun raised high its hands;


Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord’s wrath; in the fire of his passion the whole earth shall be consumed, for a full, a terrible end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.


Therefore wait for me, says the Lord, for the day when I arise as a witness. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all the heat of my anger, for in the fire of my passion all the earth shall be consumed.


So they with all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol; the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.


And fire came out from the Lord and consumed the two hundred fifty men offering the incense.


Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell.


And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and to be thrown into the hell of fire.


You snakes, you brood of vipers! How can you escape the judgment of hell?


the Lord will be unwilling to pardon them, for then the Lord’s anger and passion will smoke against them. All the curses written in this book will descend on them, and the Lord will blot out their names from under heaven.


in a fiery flame, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.


for indeed our God is a consuming fire.
