Deuteronomy 30:16 - New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition 2021

16 If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.

Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but obeying the commandments of God is everything.


But if your heart turns away and you do not hear but are led astray to bow down to other gods and serve them,


I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live,


“Moreover, the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live.


This is no trifling matter for you but rather your very life; through it you may live long in the land that you are crossing over the Jordan to possess.”


“So now, Israel, give heed to the statutes and ordinances that I am teaching you to observe, so that you may live to enter and occupy the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.


You must follow exactly the path that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land that you are to possess.


You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.


Be very careful, therefore, to love the Lord your God.
