As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes true, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet.”


Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.


But any prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded the prophet to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’


If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it.


The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this.


“I know your works, your toil and your endurance. I know that you cannot tolerate evildoers; you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not and have found them to be false.


And all Israel from Dan to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was a trustworthy prophet of the Lord.
