Who can open the doors of its face? There is terror all around its teeth.


He brought me, in visions of God, to the land of Israel and set me down upon a very high mountain on which was a structure like a city to the south.


Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night, and Daniel blessed the God of heaven.


As I watched in the night visions, I saw one like a human being coming with the clouds of heaven. And he came to the Ancient One and was presented before him.


I, Daniel, saw in my vision by night the four winds of heaven stirring up the great sea,


It grew as high as the host of heaven. It threw down to earth some of the host and some of the stars and trampled on them.


As for the horn that was broken, in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation but not with his power.


I looked up and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.


Then another portent appeared in heaven: a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns and seven diadems on his heads.


And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns were ten diadems, and on its heads were blasphemous names.


And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast.


But the angel said to me, “Why are you so amazed? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.


The beast that you saw was and is not and is about to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the inhabitants of the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.
