If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been on my side, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God saw my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.”

One wise person went up against a city of warriors and brought down the stronghold in which they trusted.


Wise warriors are mightier than strong ones and those who have knowledge than those who have strength,


I have good advice and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength.


Wisdom gives strength to the wise more than ten rulers who are in a city.


So I said, “Wisdom is better than might; yet the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heeded.”


Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one bungler destroys much good.


You will say on that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, and you comforted me.


Call to me, and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.


To these four young men God gave knowledge and skill in every aspect of literature and wisdom; Daniel also had insight into all visions and dreams.


and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.


Surely the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.


At that time Jesus said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants;

So they took away the stone. And Jesus looked upward and said, “Father, I thank you for having heard me.


I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing, but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.
