Shecaniah son of Jehiel, of the descendants of Elam, addressed Ezra, saying, “We have broken faith with our God and have married foreign women from the peoples of the land, but even now there is hope for Israel in spite of this.


Then the accuser answered the Lord, “Skin for skin! All that the man has he will give for his life.


They are not afraid of evil tidings; their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.


That night the Lord stood near him and said, “Keep up your courage! For just as you have testified for me in Jerusalem, so you must bear witness also in Rome.”


So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told.


Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved.”


Therefore I urge you to take some food, for it will help you survive, for none of you will lose a hair from your heads.”


Then all of them were encouraged and took food for themselves.


and the rest to follow, some on planks and others on pieces of the ship. And so it was that all were brought safely to land.


David was in great danger, for the people spoke of stoning him because all the people were bitter in spirit for their sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
