For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia; he was eager to be in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.


Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to warn everyone with tears.


Then Paul took the men, and the next day, having purified himself, he entered the temple with them, making public the completion of the days of purification when the sacrifice would be made for each of them.


At the same time he hoped that money would be given him by Paul, and for that reason he used to send for him very often and converse with him.


that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea and that my ministry to Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,


so that we might urge Titus that, as he had already made a beginning, so he should also complete this generous undertaking among you.


For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.


for the rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God.


They asked only one thing, that we remember the poor, which was actually what I was eager to do.
