By punishing them often in all the synagogues I tried to force them to blaspheme, and since I was so furiously enraged at them, I pursued them even to foreign cities.

correcting opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth


If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory, which is the Spirit of God, is resting on you.


They are surprised that you no longer join them in the same excesses of dissipation, and so they blaspheme.
