When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.


As Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people urged them to speak about these things again the next Sabbath.


And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to discuss this question with the apostles and the elders.


When they read it, they rejoiced at the exhortation.


So those who welcomed his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand persons were added.


praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.


We went ahead to the ship and set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul on board there, for he had made this arrangement, intending to go by land himself.


I asked, ‘What am I to do, Lord?’ The Lord said to me, ‘Get up and go to Damascus; there you will be told everything that has been assigned to you to do.’


After they had set a day to meet with him, they came to him at his lodgings in great numbers. From morning until evening he explained the matter to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the law of Moses and from the prophets.


So there was great joy in that city.


What then? Israel has not achieved what it was pursuing. The elect have achieved it, but the rest were hardened,


Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.


We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.


Now, brothers and sisters, you know that members of the household of Stephanas were the first fruits in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints;

and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power.


just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love.


He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will,


Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us, so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere, just as it is among you,
