and he said to them, “You yourselves know that it is improper for a Jew to associate with or to visit an outsider, but God has shown me that I should not call anyone profane or unclean.


for until certain people came from James, he used to eat with the gentiles. But after they came, he drew back and kept himself separate for fear of the circumcision faction.


And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”


If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive and welcome this person into your house,


But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother or sister who is sexually immoral or greedy or an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler. Do not even eat with such a one.


So he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they invited him to stay for several days.


So Peter invited them in and gave them lodging. The next day he got up and went with them, and some of the brothers and sisters from Joppa accompanied him.


When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”


Then they took Jesus from Caiaphas to Pilate’s headquarters. It was early in the morning. They themselves did not enter the headquarters, so as to avoid ritual defilement and to be able to eat the Passover.


Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon, who is called Peter; he is staying in the home of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.’
