I am being completely frank with you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with consolation; I am overjoyed in all our affliction.


It is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be put to shame in any way but that by my speaking with all boldness Christ will be exalted now as always in my body, whether by life or by death.


Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized them as companions of Jesus.

for those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and great boldness in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.


but though we had already suffered and been shamefully mistreated at Philippi, as you know, we had courage in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in spite of great opposition.


so that I may reveal it clearly, as I should.


I myself, Paul, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am humble when face to face with you but bold toward you when I am away!—


But just as we have the same spirit of faith that is in accordance with scripture—“I believed, and so I spoke”—we also believe, and therefore we also speak,


nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind, in order to instruct others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.


So they remained for a long time speaking boldly for the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace by granting signs and wonders to be done through them.


He spoke and argued with the Hellenists, but they were attempting to kill him.


But Barnabas took him, brought him to the apostles, and described for them how on the road he had seen the Lord, who had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus.


“I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures but will tell you plainly of the Father.


So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”


for if what was set aside came through glory, much more has the permanent come in glory!


and most of the brothers and sisters, having been made confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, dare to speak the word with greater boldness and without fear.


For this reason, though I am more than bold enough in Christ to command you to do the right thing,
