Jehoshaphat was afraid; he set himself to seek the Lord and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.


Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the towns of Judah they came to seek the Lord.


then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk, and grant rain on your land, which you have given to your people as an inheritance.


then hear from heaven, your dwelling place, forgive, and render to all whose hearts you know, according to all their ways, for only you know the human heart.


then hear from heaven your dwelling place and do whatever the foreigners ask of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and so they may know that your name has been invoked on this house that I have built.


“Come,” my heart says, “seek his face!” Your face, Lord, do I seek.


You have caused the land to quake; you have torn it open; repair the cracks in it, for it is tottering.


No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.


I did not speak in secret in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, “Seek me in chaos.” I the Lord speak the truth; I declare what is right.


And he will come to Zion as Redeemer, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, says the Lord.


We have long been like those whom you do not rule, like those not called by your name.


Why should you be like someone confused, like a mighty warrior who cannot give help? Yet you, O Lord, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; do not forsake us!


I am going to bring it recovery and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security.


In those days and in that time, says the Lord, the people of Israel shall come, they and the people of Judah together; they shall come weeping as they seek the Lord their God.


We tried to heal Babylon, but she could not be healed. Forsake her, and let each of us go to our own country, for her judgment has reached up to heaven and has been lifted up even to the skies.


Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored?


Say to them: As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from their ways and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?


And you, mortal, say to your people: The righteousness of the righteous shall not save them when they transgress, and as for the wickedness of the wicked, it shall not make them stumble when they turn from their wickedness, and the righteous shall not be able to live by their righteousness when they sin.


“So they shall put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”


The Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul. At this moment he is praying,


All the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
