Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Hear me, my brothers and my people. I had planned to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, for the footstool of our God, and I made preparations for building.


And they captured fortress cities and a rich land and took possession of houses filled with all sorts of goods, hewn cisterns, vineyards, olive orchards, and fruit trees in abundance; so they ate and were filled and became fat and delighted themselves in your great goodness.


The Lord sends out from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your foes.


Its priests I will clothe with salvation, and its faithful will shout for joy.


You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with richness.


Happy are those whom you choose and bring near to live in your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, your holy temple.


I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my whole being shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

And the armies of heaven, wearing fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.
