Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.


Now after Amaziah came from the slaughter of the Edomites, he brought the gods of the people of Seir, set them up as his gods, and worshiped them, making offerings to them.


You have no part or share in this, for your heart is not right before God.

Joash did what was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of the priest Jehoiada.

Their heart is false; now they must bear their guilt. The Lord will break down their altars and destroy their pillars.


Their heart was not steadfast toward him; they were not true to his covenant.


But the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places.


As soon as the royal power was firmly in his hand, he killed his servants who had murdered his father the king.
