As he went he sent word to King Jehoshaphat of Judah, “The king of Moab has rebelled against me; will you go with me to battle against Moab?” He answered, “I will; I am as you are; my people are your people; my horses are your horses.”


After some years he went down to Ahab in Samaria. Ahab slaughtered an abundance of sheep and oxen for him and for the people who were with him and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.


But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, “Inquire first for the word of the Lord.”


Jehu son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord.


Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?


Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness; rather, expose them.
