But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon had given him, they did not please him.


But Hiram had sent to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold.


We will cut whatever timber you need from Lebanon and bring it to you as rafts by sea to Joppa; you will take it up to Jerusalem.”


Solomon rebuilt the cities that Huram had given to him and settled the people of Israel in them.


Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they delivered entire communities over to Edom and did not remember the covenant of kinship.


So they set apart Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, and Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.
