But he said to me, ‘The Lord, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you and make your way successful. You shall get a wife for my son from my kindred, from my father’s house.


The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he recompensed me.


Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.


“Go and tell my servant David: Thus says the Lord: Are you the one to build me a house to live in?

because David did what was right in the sight of the Lord and did not turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.


Then the Lord will establish his word that he spoke concerning me: ‘If your heirs take heed to their way, to walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you a successor on the throne of Israel.’


If you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your life.”


As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you and keeping my statutes and my ordinances,


“Remember now, O Lord, I implore you, how I have walked before you in faithfulness with a whole heart and have done what is good in your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterly.


Solomon said to God, “You have shown great and steadfast love to my father David and have made me succeed him as king.


Return, O my soul, to your rest, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.


Deal bountifully with your servant, so that I may live and observe your word.


I will sing to the Lord because he has dealt bountifully with me.


Those who walk blamelessly and do what is right and speak the truth from their heart;


Not so with my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house.


You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us,


So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to go on ahead to you and arrange in advance for this bountiful gift that you have promised, so that it may be ready as a bountiful gift and not as an extortion.
